Hi, it’s that time of year again – Giveaway Time!
Welcome to Around the Bobbin! Thanks for stopping by and if this is your first time visiting my website, an extra welcome to you! I’m Lisa Amundson and I design bag and home décor patterns. Recently I started carrying bag hardware in my store and I also like to play around with my Silhouette Cameo and design cut-outs for fabric. Whatever it is, the fun is in playing with fabric and making things!
There will be one winner this year – and that lucky winner will get all of the following:
1. Andover fat quarter bundle–14 cheerful fat quarters from Andover Fabrics!
2. One Zip & Clip bag pattern (paper or downloadable PDF)
3. One Zip & Clip hardware kit
4. Two dahlia cut-outs fused onto 6″ blocks to make something fun with
5. One additional pattern of your choice (paper or downloadable PDF). Check out your choices here.
6. A surprise fabric cut-out personalized with the name of your choice. What is she talking about, you are asking!?! Let me show you! Here is a cut-out I did with my daughter’s name, and I will create a cut-out just for you and it will include one of my designs customized for you!
This will be a fun surprise – I have quite a few designs and fonts to choose from!
To enter into the giveaway, leave a comment to this post sharing your favorite hand-made item you’ve made or received. I’ll use a random number generator to determine the winner. The giveaway will end on Friday, Dec. 12 at 10 p.m. CST. Good luck!

I made my dad a kindle cover/stand. He’s away with work at the moment, but it has been hidden in his bag for him to find tomorrow for his birthday. I hop he like it!
Lisa says
I really love the cut-out and can’t imagine how you even did it! I made my dad a painted box with a dog silhouette, which I’m going to fill with pictures of him and his dogs from over the years. To make the silhouette, I actually traced one from my computer screen (no printer!) and then punched it out of the paper using a straight pin. It was a lot of work, but I’m so happy with the finished product. Thanks for the giveaway!

I’ve made so many quilts and things, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I have to…I guess it would be the generous double-sized quilt I promised my husband when he got his Master’s degree. It took a few years before I actually finished it, but ever since it’s been on our bed. It’s many, many 9 patches with both crazy quilt squares and coins for borders.

My wonderful husband gifted me a handmade chopping block. It was the best gift ever for many reasons. I did not ask for it…..he figured that gift out on his own! And reason two, it was made from locally harvested wood. And reason three, it was made by a dear friend and crafting mentor (now deceased).
The best gift I ever gave? I spent a year collecting teacher type fabrics. When I was satisfied with my fabrics, I designed and made a “monster teacher tote” for my sister. It was complted just in time for her first day of her new teaching career. She returned to school at age 43 to become a teacher. So proud of her and she loves her bag!

Hi there Lisa,
I received a lovely hand made shoulder bag. My aunt had purchased it for herself while she was going through chemo at a nearby hospital. When she passed away(too soon), I asked my Uncle if I could have that bag. I keep my gear in it when I go to quilting classes.

This is an incredible giveaway! My favourite handsewn gift was a cell phone pouch a friend surpirsed me day with! It doesn’t fit my new phone but I can still use it for carrying little things!
