This week’s tote is a shopping tote that is cut out with the Silhouette Cameo. This is definitely an experiment, ha! So, I hope you like playing with fabric and not just perfectly finished projects!!
I really like word art, everything from fabric with words on it to interesting sayings that make you think to creative renderings of those words into art. So, that’s what got me started. And I have to say I’m not done yet. This just made me want to do more!
This is neither thought-provoking or art, but it is playful and colorful and fun, which I am all for!
I started by designing the cut file, which splits the top and bottom halves of the word. Then I cut out the pink and black panels, which are fused with heat n bond. I then fused them onto a light lime fabric. So you see, the lime letters are not appliqued onto the black and pink; it is the other way around.
Then I stitched around the letters, being careful on the part that shows and not-so-careful on the portion in the seam allowance.
Next, I lined up the two panels and stitched them together. I now have a front panel.
And that is as far as I got!!
Stay tuned.
I’m not sure I will finish this one, at least not just yet. I’d like to play around with this concept some more.
So what word or phrase should I do next? Any suggestions?
Until next time . . . .
