Sometimes an evening or afternoon sewing project is just the right thing to engage creativity, reduce stress, have a little fun, or a chance to make someone feel special with a handmade gift. Whether it be baskets for the kitchen, the sewing room, or a baby’s room, these Nesting Baskets are fun and addicting.
I’ve been working on these Nesting Baskets for awhile, on and off, playing with various interfacing options, and they are finally ready to go. I am excited to share them with you today!
This is a learn as you go pattern. You will learn how to use an interior stabilizer, which you can fuse or sew in, and how to fold the bottom effectively to get a nice, clean triangle on each side. They are fun to make and pretty much completely addicting. The first one doesn’t take very long, and the third and fourth are lightning fast and fun!
You can add handles if you’d like. This is the small size with handles:
The sizes are 4″ square, 6″ square and 8″ square.
Time to see all the fun tester baskets!
I really like Erin’s medium size basket. The pine cones make for a pretty home decoration.
Laura was amazing. She made two sets of baskets and I especially love these florals!
Jenniffer’s baskets give you an idea of what can fit inside. They are great for organizing a sewing room or keeping a project together.
Pat’s baskets are just elegant, aren’t they? I love how they pair well with the Pass the Hot Dish Basket for a nice matching set!
I didn’t know how fabulous stripes looked on these baskets until Daryl posted her pictures in our testing group. Love the stripes, whether inside or out. Look at the fun pattern they make with the triangles.
Brinkley’s baskets are sure to cheer up any surroundings. I can’t help but smile when I see those shrimp!
I especially like Jessi’s handles, and the quilter’s flannel looks like denim. These baskets would work great with decorator fabric, linens and denim.
Leigh Ann’s baskets make such a beautiful set. I love how she pressed the corners to get more of a square look.
Melissa’s baskets look fabulous!
Tammy made a pretty matched set.
Joyce decided to put the lining to the exterior for an accent on the outside. That touch of yellow is a nice addition to the pretty daisy fabric.
I think that’s it for our basket round-up! Didn’t they do an awesome job? I love sharing these tester baskets. It is so much fun to see what everyone ends up doing, and then you can get some great ideas.
The Nesting Baskets pattern is available now as a downloadable PDF pattern, and you can use the discount code NEST25 to get 25% for a short time, now through the end of day Monday (11:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26th, CST).

Loved testing these baskets. Fun pattern, great results and great way to use up some fat quarters of fabric too!
