Introducing the newest Around the Bobbin pattern, Clearly Organized!
Not long ago, although pre-pandemic so it feels like ancient history, but anyway, in 2019 I helped my parents move closer to us. That meant meeting their basement head-on. An entire unfinished basement overflowing with stuff, including all the keepsakes, old stuff no longer used, treasured items and unwanted junk. A large section was filled with boxes and bags with stuff in them. Some things were labeled, but in general it was really hard to see what was there until we opened up boxes and bags and looked inside.
No, I’m not suggesting that these bags would have solved that problem! But, that experience has definitely gotten me thinking of (and appreciating the value of) organizing stuff and I am more motivated to do it. I especially love using vinyl in these bags to make it easier to see what’s inside. These are great for UFOs as well as sewing and other crafting supplies. The clear vinyl windows on the front and back are so helpful so you can SEE what is inside at a glance.
I hope you find these as useful as I have.
In this pattern, you also get to learn some skills such as tips for sewing with vinyl, new zipper tricks and some creative methods for enclosing seams. If you’re looking to expand your skills, you’ll find some fairly easy methods in this pattern you might find useful for other projects.
There are 6 sizes included: 5 x 7 in, 6 x 8 in, 8 x 10 in, 10 x 14 in, 12 x 15 in, and 16 x 16 inches. There is a size for just about anything!
You can download the Clearly Organized PDF pattern here and get 20% off today through Sunday, Nov 29, 2020 (midnight, CST). It is marked ON SALE so no need to use a coupon code (sale applies to PDF pattern only).
So, on to the pictures!
My wonderful testers each sewed 2-3 sizes and here are some of the pictures. Again, thanks to each and every one of them! They are amazing and generous and kind, and they give me the assurance that I am giving you a quality pattern. I am very thankful to have their assistance. And, it is so fun to see what they do!
Look at the variety of bags that Mary Jo made. So fun to see!
Thanks to Daryl for her lovely bags, showing how well they work for keeping projects together. A lot can fit in these 2 largest sizes. See more of Daryl’s work at Patchouli Moon Studio.
Not just for sewing, Melissa’s bags hold knitting, fabric and thread in her adorable bags.
As Cara’s bags show, these work for embroidery projects too. Check out more of Cara’s work at Early Bird Stitches. Such cute bags!
Joyce shows us her bright, tie-dyed bags. They look great together as a set!
What a pretty set that Pat put together. Great for keeping that yarn protected or keeping little things together in a little bag.
I’m so glad Tamra showed us this picture of her gloves in a bag. What a great idea! These bags are not just for sewing and crafting supplies, although that yarn in the second picture fits in there perfectly!
Art supplies? Great idea Jessi! And those hair accessories. How often do those take over a drawer or cupboard! I love the variety in the fabrics. That strawberry fabric is so sweet.
Jenniffer shared how easily it was to use up scraps on these, especially the smaller bags. It was also cool to see how books fit into the larger bags.
There is only one fabric required per bag. As you can see in Ramona’s bags, the zipper becomes the contrasting color. It’s fun to see how that adds interest to these bags. Nice job Ramona.
Sue kept her Clearly Organized projects in her Clearly Organized Bag. Clever girl. Check out more of Sue’s work here.
I hope you enjoyed looking at the wide variety of bags here. Who says it can’t be fun to organize with bags made from beautiful quilting cotton!
If you’d like to make some Clearly Organized bags, you can get the pattern here. It’s on sale now through Sunday, Nov 29 (CST).
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you celebrating Thursday. Thanks to all of you who tested this pattern. It’s always a pleasure to see what you do. I’m grateful as well to all of you who stopped by to read this today.
Happy sewing,
Lisa
