The newest Around the Bobbin pattern is a basket pattern to decorate — and organize — your home. These baskets are fat-quarter friendly. Four fat quarters will make any size basket. Add in some interfacing and stabilizer and you’re ready to go!
Maybe it’s time to organize your sewing room.
Or maybe your knitting needs a pretty place to go? Don’t you love that Sheep Fabric – it’s a sneak peek of the new Knitty Sheep fabric from Contempo (Benartex). It’s adorable and will be available soon!
Sew up two smalls and a medium for a pretty holiday table display! I love this idea, and I’ll have to actually do it for another blog post. You know when you can actually see like it’s real but it’s really just an idea in your brain, ha ha. I wish I could just snap a picture of what it will look like. Stay tuned . . .
Here are just a few of the wonderful baskets from my testers:
Stacy did an outstanding job of sewing her baskets. They are gorgeous!
And, her daughter proved that the large basket makes a great hat, too. This made me laugh our loud. Really. For real. She is so dang cute!
Pat did a lovely job on her basket, and you can see her wonderful choice of blue fabrics.
Jamie made a fabulous basket for sewing supplies. Isn’t it cute? She opted not to do the exterior stitching on the corners, which goes to show you that it looks great without it, too.
And her son decided to show that baskets and hats are not just for girls. Don’t you just love that smile!
Thanks for stopping by. The Flared Top Basket downloadable PDF Pattern is now available and will soon be available in full-color paper patterns as well!
So, what needs organizing in your home?

Hi Rose,
I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties putting it together. I do not have a video, but please feel free to contact me (my email is on the back cover) to tell me more about where you might be getting stuck and I’ll do whatever I can to help you get un-stuck! I know this might be obvious, but please make sure you are reading the instructions along side the pictures. Since there are a lot of pictures, sometimes it is easy to rely on them but the instructions really do provide a lot of additional help. Do not hesitate to contact me though. Thanks, Lisa
